PATTERNINFORMATION
Close fitting sweater with puffed sleeves and a kangaroo pocket is worked in the round from bottom up. Due to free pattern, only one size is given but it's easy to adjust by knitting a basic raglan sweater and following the instructions for waist shaping, pocket and sleeve shaping. (Originally published in 2008, revised in 2012)

Bust circumference 29" / 74 cm, to fit bust 32"/ 81 cm

approx. 600 yds / 550 m of Worsted-weight yarn.
NEEDLES&NOTIONS
· US Size 6 / 4 mm circular needle, 32" / 80 cm long · US Size 6 / 4 mm double pointed needles for sleeves or the circular needle above for Magic Loop-technique. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. · stitch markers ·rowcounter · tapestry needle for weaving in yarn ends

Bring yarn to front of work between needles, slip next stitch to right needle, bring yarn around this stitch to back of work, slip stitch back to left needle, turn work and begin working back to the other direction. PATTERNINSTRUCTIONS
BODY
CO 144 sts, join for knitting in the round and place a marker at the beginning. Rnd 1: (K2, p2) 18 times, pm, (k2, p2) 18 times. Rnds 2-8: Work in (k2, p2) ribbing around. Knit 18 rnds.
Waist shaping:
Next rnd (decrease rnd): K1, k2tog, knit to 3 sts before marker, ssk, k1, sm, k1, k2tog, knit to 3 sts before end of round, ssk, k1 - 4 sts decreased. Knit 7 rounds even and repeat decrease round once more - 136 sts for waist. Knit 14 rounds even. Next rnd (increase rnd): K1, M1L, knit to 1 st before marker, M1R, k1, sm, k1, M1L, knit to 1 st before end of round, M1R, k1 - 4 sts increased. Knit 7 rounds even and repeat increase round once more -144 sts. Continue working in St st, until body measures 12" / 31 cm or desired length from hem to underarm. Next rnd: Knit to 5 sts before first marker and BO next 10 sts for the underarm, then knit to 5 sts before end of rnd and BO next 10 sts for the underarm. Set body aside.
SLEEVES
CO 56 sts, join for working in the round and place a marker at the beginning. Work in (k2, p2) ribbing for 8 rounds. Knit 2 rounds. Next rnd: Knit to 5 sts before end of round and BO next 10 sts for the underarm - 46 sts. Make the other sleeve to match.
YOKE
Joining sleeves and body on one circular needle: Knit 46 sts for left sleeve, place raglan marker, knit 62 sts for front, place raglan marker, knit 46 sts for right sleeve, place raglan marker, knit 62 sts for back, place raglan marker - 216 sts. Beginning of round is behind left shoulder and direction of knitting is: left sleeve, front, right sleeve, back. Markers that indicate raglan decreases, are referred as raglan markers and markers that indicate puffed sleeve shaping, are referred as sleeve markers. Rnd 2 (working first set of raglan decreases):
Slipping sleeve markers as you come to them, \* K1, k2tog, knit to 3 sts before next raglan marker, ssk, k1, sm; repeat from \* two more times, k1, k2tog, knit to 3 sts before end of round, ssk, k1 - 8 sts decreased. Rnd 3 (working second set of sleeve increases): Slipping raglan markers as you come to them, [Knit to sleeve marker, sm, M1L] two times, [knit to sleeve marker, M1R, sm] two times, [knit to sleeve marker, sm, M1 L] two times, [knit to sleeve marker, M1R, sm] two times, knit to end of round. Repeat rounds 2 and 3 five more times (7 sets of sleeve increases and 6 sets of raglan decreases made, 13 rounds total) - 224 sts. 50villapei k<oa.blogspot.com Rnd 14: Work raglan decreases as on Rnd 2. Rnd 15: Knit Repeat rounds 14 and 15 seven more times and repeat then round 14 once more. You now have 152 sts; 32 sts for both front and back and 44 sts for each sleeve.
Puffed sleeve decreases:
Next rnd: K2tog 22 times, slip raglan marker, knit 32 sts for front, slip raglan marker, k2tog 22 times, slip raglan marker, knit to end of round. Knit one rnd even. Next rnd: K1, k2tog 10 times, k1, slip raglan marker, knit front sts, slip raglan marker, k1, k2tog 10 times, k1, slip raglan marker, knit to end of round. You now have 88 sts, 32 sts for both front and back and 12 sts for each sleeve.
Shape the neck with short rows:
Row 1 (RS): Knit 12 sts for left sleeve, w&t. Row 2 (Ws): Purl 12 sts for left sleeve, purl 32 sts for back, purl 12 sts for right sleeve, w&t. Row 3 (RS): Knit 12 sts for right sleeve, knit 32 sts for back, knit 6 sts for left sleeve, w&t. Row 4 (WS): Purl 6 sts for left sleeve, purl 32 sts for back, purl 6 sts for right sleeve, w&t. Row 5 (RS): Knit 6 sts for right sleeve, knit 32 sts for back. Continue working in the round with all sts and knit one rnd, knitting wraps together with the wrapped sts as you come to them. Work in (k2, p2) ribbing for 3 rounds. BO
Pocket is worked back and forth and it's placed 0,5" / 1,5 cm above the ribbing. CO 40 sts. Work 10 rows in St st, ending with a WS row. Shape the pocket: Row 1 (RS): K1, ssk, knit to 3 sts before end of row, k2tog, k1. Row 2 (WS): Purl. Repeat these two rows 4 more times - 30 sts. Continue in St st for 20 more rows, 40 rows total. BO all sts.
FINISHING
Close underarm gaps and weave in the ends. Block both the sweater and the pocket separately. Sew the pocket on. Then pick up 32 sts from the rounded edges of pocket and work in (k2, p2) ribbing for 7 rows. BO and sew the short sides of ribbing on the sweater also.
