Materials Checklist: 1 skein Mirasol Ushya (114 yds/100 g) US size 15 straight needles or circulars of same size Tapestry needle 1 button, 2" diameter Gauge: 2 stitches per inch Finished Measurements: (adult small) 22 inches by 8 inches Note: this pidge gains a lot of length during blocking. The finished measurements are POST blocking, so keep that in mind. Ifyou want a longer pidge simply omit 4 or 8 stitches from the cast on number to decrease the width and increase the length. You willslip thefirst stitch ofevery row, both Right and Wrong Sides Basket Weave stitch: (the slipped first stitch should correspond with the stitch if you were knitting it, so slip Knitwise for knit stitches and Purlwise for purl stitches.) Rows 1 and 3: S11, K1, \*P2, K2\*; repeat from \* to end of row. Rows 2 and 4: S11, P1, \*K2, P2\*; repeat from \* to end of row.
To begin Pidge:
Cast on 18 stitches. Work Basket Weave for 4 rows (ending on WS). On next row (RS) work pattern for Button Hole Row as follows: Work basket weave pattern across row to last 7 stitches, YO, k 2 tog, K1, P 2, K 2. Continue next row of pattern (row 2) as written and continue pattern until you run out of yarn or knit measures 20 inches. Weave in ends and block piece to desired length. Attach buttons and give yourself a high five!
