Designed by Katie Meeker Ravelry: kadiddly Email: kadiddly@yahoo.com This sweet little blanket is perfect for any tiny pixie! The elfin lace pattern gives a nice bit of visual interest and texture while still being solid enough to snuggle up with, and the twisted hem provides an elegant edging worthy of a fairy princess. Skill Level: Advanced beginner Skills Needed: knit stitch, some version of a stretchy cast on, yo, ssk, k2tog, cdd Finished Measurements: \~36"x36"
Materials
3 skeins Caron Simply Soft (6oz/170g, 315yd/288m, 100% acrylic) Off White OR \~950 yds of worsted weight yarn US size 9 [5.5 mm] 32" circular needles US size 9 [5.5 mm] double pointed needles (if desired) 4 stitch markers, one distinct enough to mark the beginning of the round Tapestry needle to weave in ends
Gauge
Gauge is not important, however each chart repeat is \~2.5” wide, so to change the size of the blanket, add/subtract a multiple of 32 sts (8 sts per edge) from the CO number.
Special Abbreviations
twist: holding the right needle still, drop the left needle behind and under the knitting, then bring it up in front of the knitting. A good video tutorial of this technique can be found at https://vimeo.com/53707400. (Video tutorial credit: Garnstudio DR0PS Design.) dd (double decrease): slip 2 knitwise, k1, pass 2 slipped stitches over sm: slip stitch marker
Pattern Notes
This blanket is worked mostly in the round, from the outside in, so each patterned round decreases as you work. Great for feeling productive! When the number of stitches becomes too small to be comfortable on the circular needle, switch to your preferred method of small-diameter circular knitting (Magic Loop, two circs, or dpns).

Pattern
Twisted Garter Hem
From Nicky Epstein's Knitting on the Edge Using stretchy cast on of choice (long tail or Twisted German are recommended), CO 440 sts, placing a marker every 110 sts. Leave a long enough tail at the beginning to seam the corner (\~12"). The markers will be the corners of the blanket. Do NOT join in the round. The hem will be knit flat in garter stitch, with the corner seamed at the end.
Row 1 (WS): knit
Row 2 (RS): \*ssk, k to 2 sts before marker, k2t0g, sm; rep from \* to end Repeat Rows 1-2 two more times. 416 sts total/104 sts between markers. Twist Row: \*k8, twist; rep from \* to end.

Spread the knitting out as much as possible to ensure the live stitches are flat. The twist in the hem may make it difficult to see if the stitches are all facing the correct direction (the RS of the work should be facing, the bumps of the current row of stitches should be facing away). Carefully, making sure not to twist the stitches, join in the round, placing a distinct marker between the first and last stitches. Begin Elfin Lace pattern Elfin Lace From 99 Knit Stitches

Finishing
Cut yarn, draw tail through the remaining stitches, and fasten off. Use original CO tail to seam corner stitches where the hem was knit flat. Weave in all ends. Wash and block piece as desired. Snuggle it around the little pixie in your life!
