MATERIALS Blue Sky Alpacas Dyed Cotton (l00g/150 yds.) 2 hanks One pair size 7 needles of size to obtain gauge One pair size 6 needles or one size smaller One set size 6 double point needles or one size smaller for leg bands GAUGE 18 stitches and 24 rows = 4"
SIZE
12 and 18 months Instructions are for smaller size. Instructions are given for larger size in parentheses. WWhen only one number is given it applies to both sizes.
FRONT
With larger needle cast on I0 stitches. Work in KIPl rib pattern for 3 rows. Cast on four at beginning of next 14(16) rows keeping in rib pattern. [66(74) stitches] Continue even in stockinette stitch until piece measures 8"(9") from beginning; end wrong side. Next row: KI \*(K2tog, K2), repeat from \* to last stitch, Kl. [50 (56) stitches remaining] Next row: PI (0)\*, (P2tog, P5), repeat from\*. [43(48) stitches remaining] Change to smaller needle and work waistband in Kl,PI ribbing for I ". End wrong side.


Next row bind off II (13), K21 (22), bind off II (13). Change to larger needle and attach new yarn working bib section in stockinette stitch until bib is 3 (3%4) inches from end of ribbing. Bind off.
BACK
Work same as front to end of waistband ribbing. Next row: Bind off 14 (16),kl5 (16), bind off 14 (16). VVith larger needle, attach new yarn to remaining stitches and work back bib in stockinette stitch until piece is I %2" from end of ribbing. End wrong side. Next row knit 7 (8), place on holder, attach new yarn, bind off I (O), knit to end. Next row: Purl 7 (8). Next row: Kl, k2tog, K to end. Purl I row. Repeat these two rows until 6 stitches remain. Continue working these 6 stitches for strap. Continue working even until strap is 9" from back bib. Bind off. Work second strap as the first reversing the decrease.
ASSEMBLY
Sew romper together at crotch seam. Sew side seams. With smaller needle pick up 50 stitches around leg opening and work in kl, pl rib around for I". Bind off. Sew snap on straps and front bib.
