MAIN PATTERN
Read this chart from right to left, starting in the right lower corner. Knit across the chart twice, since the back side of the mitten is identical to the front! Make sure to notice that the sts marked with grey are purled with double yarn, using 2 colors! Knit your thumb sts with waste yarn to mark where the thumb will be knit later. On the right hand mitten, knit the thumb sts (marked in red) on needle #3 counted from the beginning of the row, and for the left hand mitten, knit the sts (marked green) on needle #2, also counted from the beginning of row. This way the joining of each row, and the changing of color, will be less visible. After working the thumb sts, put them back on your left hand needle, and continue following the chart. Decrease on the top, and pull the yarn through the last 6 sts. Weave in the loose ends. Go to page 3.
