PATTERN NOTES
This cowl is knitted top-down in the round in stocking stitch, with evenly spaced increases for shaping, and three rounds of seed stitch at each edge to reduce curling. Kfb:Knit into the front and back of the stitch. (Alternatively you may work your favourite increase.) Seed stitch: (sometimes called single moss stitch) On an even number of stitches: Round one: \*K1, pl. Repeat from \* to the end. Round two: \*P1,k1. Repeat from \* to the end. Repeat these two rounds. On an odd number of stitches: Round one: \*K1, pl. Repeat from \* ending with a kl. Round two: \*P1,kl. Repeat from ending with a pl. Repeat these two rounds. Stocking stitch: (aka stockinette stitch) On any number of stitches: Round one: Knit. Repeat this round.

PATTERN
Cast on 86 stitches. Join in the round, taking care not to twist the stitches, and place a stitch marker at the start of the round. Work three rounds of seed stitch. (Alternatively, you may find it easier to work three rows of seed stitch flat, before joining in the round. In this case, the seed stitch rows will need to be joined with a small seam during finishing.) You will now work 60 rounds of stocking stitch, increasing four stitches evenly on each round, ewery ten rounds as follows: Rounds 1 - 9: Knit. Round 10- 1"t increase round: K10, kfb, k21, kfb, k20, kfb, k21, kfb, k10 (90sts). Rounds 11 -19: Knit. Round 20 - 2nd increase round: k11, kfb, k21, kfb, k22, kfb, k21, kfb, k11 (94sts). Rounds 21 - 29: Knit. Round 30 - 3rd increase round: k11, kfb, k23, kfb, k22, kfb, k23, kfb, k11 (98sts). Rounds 31 - 39: Knit. Round 40 - 4th increase round: k12, kfb, k23, kfb, k24, kfb, k23,kfb, k12 (102sts). Rounds 41 - 49: Knit. Round 50 - 5th increase round: k12, kfb, k25, kfb, k24, kfb, k25,kfb,k12 (106sts).
