FABRIC STITCH
Row 1: \*K3, bring yarn to front of work, sl 1 pw, take yarn to back of work; rep from \* to end. Row 3: K1, \*bring yarn to front of work, sl 1 pw, take yarn to back of work, K3; rep from \* to end. Depending on how many sts are on the needle you may have odd amounts of sts left over, this will not matter to the pattern as long as you knit the last st.
DAISY STITCH
First row of pattern: MD1 (over 5sts) as you knit into each of the next 5 sts, wrap the yarn around the needle 3 times instead of once. Second row of pattern: MD2 Slip the 5 sts one at a time, letting the extra wraps drop down so that you have 5 long sts, then yfwd and sl these 5 sts back onto RHN, yb, sl these 5 sts on to LHN, yfwd, sl the sts onto RHN, yb, sl back onto LHN. (Essentially what you are doing is passing the sts back and forth while wrapping the yarn round them.) With 4mm needles, cast on 35 sts. Rows 1 & 2: Knit. Row 3: K3 \*MD1, k3; rep to end. Row 4: K3 \*MD2, k3; rep to end. Rows 5 & 6: Knit. Next row: K2, \*k2tog, k2 rep to last st; k1-27 sts. Next row: Purl Next row: (Eyelet row) K2tog, \*yfwd, k2tog; rep from \* to last last 3 sts; yfwd k3tog. -25 sts Next row: Purl Change to 5mm needles. Fabric st 4 rows. Shape top of foot Row 1:Patt 17, turn. Row 2: P9, turn. Row 3: Patt 9, turn. Repeat rows 2 & 3 6 times more then row 2 again. Next row: Pick up and purl 8 sts along left side of top of foot, then purl rem 8 sts on left needle, turn. Next row: Pattern 23, pick up and knit 8 sts along right side of top of foot, then patt rem 8 sts - 41sts. Patt 5 rows.
Shape Toe and Heel
Work in stocking st, dec 1 st in centre of each row 2 times, then dec 2 sts in each row 4 times. -31sts. Castoff.

To Make Up
Sew back and sole seams. Thread narrow ribbon through eyelet holes and tie in a bow as shown in the photograph.
