Work from pattern instructions for respective sock until you have completed 55 rounds of pattern (ending with row 7). Work should measure approximately 15cm/6". Divide for heel flap as follows: Heel Flap: Row 1: K21 (on N1), turn Row 2: Sl 1 Purl wise with yarn in front, then P41 (purling back along stitches on N1 & N4 and placing them on one needle) - 42 stitches are now at the back of the leg. The other 42 stitches (on N2 & N3) will be worked later for the sock instep. Copyright - Raquel Gaskell This pattern is intended for personal use only .lanllarv2013 Work on 42 heel stitches, back and forth as follows (in rows): Set up row 1: \*Sl 1 Purl wise with yarn in back, K1,\* repeat from \* to end Set up row 2: Sl 1 Purl wise with yarn in front, P41 Repeat these 2 rows 15 times more (making a total of 32 rows worked altogether - you should have 16 chain stitches at the selvedge).

Gusset:
Knit across first 12 stitches (and place marker if using to indicate the centre of the heel), and with a new needle (N1) knit remaining 12 stitches then pick up 18 stitches along the left side of heel flap, pattern 42 stitches on needles 2 & 3 (commencing with row 1 of instep pattern), then using another needle (N4) pick up 18 stitches along the right side of heel flap and knit remaining 12 stitches, to finish at the beginning of the round. You should now have 102 stitches -N1, 30 sts; N2, 21 sts; N3, 21 sts and N4, 30 sts Round 1: (Decrease round) N1, knit to the last 3 sts, K2tog, K1; pattern across 42 sts on N2 & N3; N4, K1, ssk, knit to end. Round 2: (Even round) knit all stitches on N1, pattern 42 stitches on N2 & N3, Knit all stitches on N4. Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until 84 stitches remain (there should now be 21 stitches on each needle). Foot: Continue working even rounds (no more decreases) until your sock measures 5cm/2" less than your desired foot length (ending with row 9 of instep pattern). Toe: Round 1: (Decrease round) Knit to last 3 sts on N1, K2tog, K1; N2, K1, ssk, knit to end; N3, knit to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1; N4, K1, ssk, knit to end. Round 2: (Even round) knit all stitches.

Repeat rounds 1 & 2 until 32 stitches remain (8 stitches on each needle). Rearrange stitches so that there are 16 stitches on two needles, (ready for grafting) as follows: Knit 24 stitches (finishing at the end of N3) - rearrange stitches so that the first and last 8 stitches of the round (on N1 & N4) are on one needle - with the remaining 16 stitches (N2 & N3 sts) are on another needle. You are now ready to graft the toe using Kitchener Stitch.
Finishing:
Cut yarn, leaving at least a 30.5cm/12" tail to enable you to graft the toe using Kitchener Stitch - weave inlooseends.
