SHAWL BODY
Cast on 166 stitches. Row 1: (WS) P6, \*k2tog tbl, wind yarn twice around needle, k2tog, p6; rep from $^*$ to end. Row 2: K6, \*pl, p into first made stitch and k into the second, pl k6; rep from \* to end. Repeat rows 1-2 until work measures 9 inches, and the last row you knit is a RS row. (You may adjust this length to your own specifications) (shape neck opening) Next row: (WS) P6, k2tog tbl, wind yarn twice around needle, k2tog, p6, k2tog tbl, wind yarn twice around needle, k2tog, p6, bind off center 114 stitches, p6, k2tog tbl, wind yarn twice around needle, k2tog, p6, k2tog tbl, wind yarn twice around needl, k2tog, p6. Next row: K6, pl, p into first made stitch and k into the second, pl k6, pl, p into first made stitch and kinto the second, pl k6, cast on 114 stitches, k6, pl, p into first made stitch and k into the second, pl k6, pl, p into first made stitch and k into the second, pl k6. Repeat rows 1-2 until entire work measures 18 inches, and the last row you knit is a RS row. (Remember, if you have adjusted the length of the first side, you will need to do the same here.) FINISHING
With a tapestry needle, sew approximately 2 inches at side seams. (The sides can also be left open if you prefer this look.) Weave in loose yarn. Thread decorative ribbon along neck opening. Enjoy!
