Beret Cup Cake Rose

The central model of this beret looks like a blossoming rose. It is composed of front post doublecrochets. I searched for a new way of crocheting. I found in my old publications of the 1980ies the front post double crochet. My experiments guided me to this beret, my Cup Cake Rose - a sweet temptation. This beret is worked in rounds top down. In the following description I do not give detailed information of beginning and ending of a round. There are different methods. My method is mentioned in the appendix A2. Instructions between two stars (\*) have to be repeated. That means: rep from \* to \* until end of round is reached. US terms are used.

Appendix:
A1: Crochet in the second back loop:
Blue marked: front loop. Green marked: back loop. Pink marked: 2. back loop

One row hdc, front view

back view

front view: right side 3 normal hdc, followed by 3 hdc in 2. back loop (result is a row of slst - green/blue marked)

back view: hdc in second back loop

A2: Beginning and ending of a round
I start a round of hdc with 2 chains and one hdc in the 1. stitch of previous round. I end with one slip stitch in the 1. stitch of current round. The additional 2 chains and the 1. hdc of the round are treated like one stitch. This method avoids uggly space.

Blue: slst in first hdc of current round = end of round Blue: work slst in the first stitch of current round (green) and 2 chs. Work the first hdc of new round in the first hdc of previous round (Green). I work rounds with sc at the same way i described before, but instead of two chains I only take one.
