Abbreviations:

CO = cast on sl = slip stitch RS = right side WS = wrong side CN =cableneedle C8F = slip next 4 st onto CN and hold at front of the work, knit following 4 st then the 4 on CN C8B = slip next 4 st onto CN and hold at back of the work, knit following 4 st then the 4 on CN

Pattern:

CO 42 stitches ( I prefer the provisional cast on as we will graft the end and the beginning row together in the end) Row 1: sl 1, purl the rest (WS) Row 2: sl1, knit the rest (RS) Row 3: sl1, purl the rest Row 4: sl1, [C8F, k8],repeat once, C8F, k1 Row 5: sl1, purl the rest repeat pattern (row 1-8) 11 times or until desired
