Summertime in New Orleans can be pretty hot, and seersucker is a staple of our wardrobes down here. In my family, we all have some to try and keep cool, and fashionable, in theheatandhumidity!
Sizes
Small (Medium, Large) will fit an approximately 8"(9", 10") foot
Gauge
8.5 sts & 12 rows/inch in stockinette
Abbreviations
K -Knit p-Purl m1 - Make one increase m1p - Make one increase purlwise Sl - Slip as if to purl K2tog - Knit two stitches together ssk - slip, slip, knit p2tog - purl two stitches together st(s) - Stitch(es)
Notes
The heel on this sock is a no-wrap short row heel that I completely ripped off from Hypercycloid and her Cinch pattern. Thanks, Krysten, sorry I couldn'taskfirst!
Chart



Toe
Cast 0n 18 (22, 26) stitches. Increase Round - Instep - K1, m1, K to last st., m1, K1. Repeat for sole. Repeat Increase round until 34 (38, 42) stitches. Work one round even, followed by an increase round until 62 (70, 78) stitches. Final Toe Round - Work as increase round across instep, then work sole stitches even. You will have 64 (72, 80) stitches -33 (37, 41) instep stitches and 31 (35, 39) sole stitches.
Foot
Instep - Work Chart 8 (9, 10) times across plus Stitch 1 of the chart. Sole - Knit all stitches Continue foot until 2 (2 , 2.5)" less than desired length.
Heel
This is a no-wrap short row heel thatl completely ripped off from Hypercycloid and her Cinch pattern. Row 1 - Work Instep stitches in pattern as established. K until one sole stitch remains unworked, turn. Row 2 - Sl1, purl across until one sole stitch remains unworked on the other side, turn Row 3-Sl1,knit until two stitches before the end of the sole, turn. Row 4 - Sl1, purl until two stitches before the end of the sole, turn. Continue leaving one more stitch unworked at the end of each row until you have finished a purl row and have 9 (11, 11) active stitches with 11 (12, 14) unworked stitches on each side. Turn. Row 5 - Sl1, knit across active stitches until 1 remains, ssk, m1, turn. Row 6 - Sl1, purl across active stitches until 1 remains p2tog, m1p, turn. Repeat the last two rows until all the heel stitches have been worked. There will be 31 (35, 39) sole stitches -62 (72, 80) stitches total.
Leg
Continue working pattern across instep as established and carrying it around the leg. Work chart 16 (18, 20) times around. Repeat Chart a minimum of 6 times (48 rounds) ending with row 2 or 6.
Cuff
Work 16 rounds of K1, p1 ribbing. Use Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy bind off. Weave in ends and repeat entire pattern for second sock.
