Materials: Rihivilla finnsheep yarn green: $40\ \mathrm{g}$ lilac: $25{\mathrm{~g~}}$ orange: $15\;\mathrm{g}$ White: $15\;\mathrm{g}$ pink: $10~\mathrm{g}$ 1 set of 5 US 2,5 / 3,0 mm double point needles or size to obtain correct gauge Gauge:25sts/27rows $=4$ inches in stockinette stitch $/\ 10\mathrm{~x~}10\ \mathrm{cm}$ Size: Women's medium
Pattern:
Cuff:
Cast on 50 stitches in green. Divide stitches evenly onto four needles and join into round, being careful not to twist. Knit 23 rounds (inside of the cuff). Change to orange and knit one round, then purl one round (turning round). Change to green, knit pattern A.After having finished pattern A, fold the work double. Check if the inside and the outside of the cuff are even (if they are not, add or remove one or two rows in green, until the cuff is even.). Change to pink (if you have removed one or two rows in green in pattern A, knit them in the following, so that there are two rounds in green between the two rounds in white and the round in pink). Knit the last row and the cast-on-row together by knitting together the first stitch of the cast-on-row and the first stitch of the last row, then the second stitch of both rows and so on until you have finished the whole round and both ends of the cuff are knitted together.
Body of mitten:
Knit pattern B. In round 4, increase two stitches for the thumb gusset and from now on in every third round like it is shown in pattern C. Continue until the thumb gusset has 18 rounds and 13 stitches. In the 19th round, put these 13 stitches of the thumb gusset on a holder and continue the round. In the next round, cast on 3 stitches in their place and continue to knit the pattern. One round has now again 50 stitches. To knit the decreases at the top of the mitten, make the decreases at the right edge of every side of the mitten with ssk, and at the left edge of every side with k2tog. There must be three stitches (lilacpink-lilac) between the two decreases in pink at each edge of the mitten. Decrease until there remain ca. 6 stitches. Cut the yarn and move the lilac yarn onto a tapestry needle. Passit through the remaining stitches and pulitight.
Thumb:
Move the 13 stitches from the holder on two needles and pick up further 13 stitches from the back of the thumb hole. Knit pattern C from round 19 until the end of the pattern. Make the decreases like on the body of mitten. Weave in ends. Knit the second mitten as if seen in a mirror, including the thumb.
