Borowski's hat a simple top-down watch cap

Size: one size fits all Yarn: Super Bulky Yarn used: Lana Grossa Mille II (ca 2 balls/100g)) Size needle: 5 mm (US size 8) circulars or dpn also needed: stitch markers tapestry needle pompon maker (optional) to adapt size: use different yarn, different needle size or add/detract increase rounds (total stitch number must be divisible by 4) Klaus Borowski is the character of a German crime show based in Kiel, a harbor city on the coast of the Baltic Sea. He dresses casually in corduroys jackets and thick woollen sweaters. I've never seen him wearing a hat, but I bet he would like this simple ribbed hat, the wide brim folded double to keep the ears warm and toasty. The hat is knit seamlessly from the top down in order to make the most of the yarn. I used cicular needles in the magic-loop technique, but feel free to use dpns if you feel more comfortable. After a flat crown the hat is worked in a simple ribbing, but it would also look smashing with broad stripes (remember to knit allstitches in the first round after a color change!) and/or a pompom...

The pattern is free to download, knit and share. You can knit as many hats as you like and keep them or give them away to family, friends, strangers or charity. You are not allowed to sell the pattern or the finished hats unless you want to donate the money received to charity.
