
Modeled by Petra Vatne This sweet, two-sided cowl offers a finely textured design on the front, and a silky, tonal stockinette on the back. Inji Kismet Fibers stars Carree, and Carree's choice of bases are nothing short of luxurious. The silk blends in these yarns have a wonderful sheen, making the cowl shimmer and shine. The cowl has wonderful drape and feels great against the skin. Inji Kismet Fiber is a joy to work with! Sizes: Short 5" x 30" circumference. Long 5" x 60" circumference. Cowl shown in cover pic measures 60"around.
Materials:
Short: 12 skein each of Inji Kismet Fibers: Shukumei Sock Japanese Maple 100g-438 yds (70% Superwash Merino/30% Silk) Inji Kismet Fibers: Maejirase Silk Sock Butter Pecan 100g-438 yds (50% Superwash Merino/50% Silk) Long: 1 skein each of the above (Cover cowl is 60" around.) One 21" (29") circular #4 needle stitch marker tapestry needle Gauge: Gauge is unimportant here. INSTRUCTIONS: Using Japanese Maple and a provisional CO, CO 128 (248) sts.-or any multiple of 8 sts, placing marker at the round beginning. Join to beginning being careful not to twist sts. Knit 5 purl 3 per CHART A 16 (31) repeats per round until piece measures 5". Switch to Butter Pecan and work stockinette until you reach 5", or until back matches front.
\*Float loosely and evenly.
Graft CO edge to last round, using Kitchener stitch. Finishing: Tie and trim all yarn ends. Wash and block flat so that the piece is blocked in half, with the front having design, and the back in stockinette. Or steam press flat with a damp cloth between iron and cowl. Do not let iron touch yarn directly. Make sure edges are crisp and flat.
