Materials
50g (100g) Cascade 220 or other worsted weight wool Size 7 or 8 circular needle 40" or 47" Stitch markers Tapestry needle Gauge: (approximate) 4 or 4.5 sts. to the inch Size: Child (Adult)
Directions
Cast on 70 (84) stitches on circular needles and join for working in the round. Divide stitches evenly across both needles. Knit all stitches until hat measures 6" (8") from cast-on edge. Place a stitch marker after every 10th (12th) stitch (no need to place markers at the end of each needle, as the magic loop automatically marks these).
Decreases:
Note: each decrease round must be completed on BOTH NEEDLES Round 1: \*K2tog, K to next marker, slip marker. Repeat from \* to end of round Round 2: Knit all sts.

Repeat these 2 rounds until there are 7 stitches remaining. Break off yarn, leaving a fairly long tail. Draw tail through remaining 7 sts, pull firmly, and draw through to inside of hat. Weave in ends.
Modification ideas (optional):
