Basic Modular Dishctoth

This would be a great project for learning a new technique. It's easier than you might think and the possibilities are endless. Yarn: · Peaches n' Creme ${100\%}$ cotton Color: Amount:: your 1 skein choice · Sugar n' Cream $100\%$ cotton Other Materials: ·US #7( $(4.5\;\mathsf{m m})$ ) needles Gauge: 17 sts $\times\,32$ rows in garter stitch Finished size: (before washing) $9"$ square (After washing) approx. 8 1/4" square

Instructions:
Jyuaie vlle. Cast on 37 sts using the Knit Cast On method. Row 1: (WS) Knit Row 2: (RS) S1, K16, S1, K2tog, PSSO, K16, P1 Row 3 (and all odd rows): S1, Knit across rest of sts. Square Two:
Starting at upper left corner of Square One, pick up 18 sts through each of the original cast on sts, pick up one st at lower left corner (19 sts). Cast on 18 more sts using the Knit Cast on method (37 sts). Continue to work Square Two as for Square One starting with Row 1.
Square Three:
Work as for Square Two.
Square Four:
Starting at upper left corner of Square Three, pick up 18 sts through each of the original cast on sts, pick up one st at lower left corner, pick up 18 sts along edge of Square One (37 sts). Continue to work Square Four as for Square One starting with Row 1. Weave in loose ends. See following pages for additional instructions and schematics. Pick up stitches in each of the original cast on stitches of Square One. SQUARE ONE


Pick up one stitch at the corner which - will be the center stitch in row and will be at the diagonal on Square Two. At this point the rest of the stitches will be Cast on using the knit method.
