Kinley's Crochet Cable Hat

· In this pattern, the ch2 at the beginning of the round does not count as the first stitch. You may find crochet instructions on the internet. I only provide the stitch abbreviations for you, and instructions for two special stitches used in this pattern.

Special Stitch Instructions:
Back Post Single Crochet (bpsc)
A bpsc is basically the same thing as a bpdc, you just do a single instead of a double. Insert hook from back to front to back around post of corresponding stitch below, yarn over and pull up loop, yarn over and draw through two loops on hook.

Cable: (Works using posts of next 4 stitches): Skip 2 stitches, fptc around post of next two stitches, fptc around post of first skipped stitch (the skipped stitch on the right), fpt around post of next skipped stitch.

FINAL EDGING ROUND:
Row 9: sc down the left edge of the brim, continue to sc evenly around the entire back edge of the hat, continue to sc up the right side and across the front of the brim end with a slip stitch into the first sc of this round. Fasten off . Try not to crochet the last round too tightly as it will not have enough give around the head. To finish: Cut yarn and fasten off. Weave in the ends with a tapestry needle.
