You will need..
·Yarn Color A (Red Heart Super Saver Solids in White) Yarn Color B (Red Heart Super Saver Solids in Cherry Red) Yarn Color C (Red Heart Super Saver Solids in Paddy Green) BlackYarn for nose Fiberfill Stuffing Stitch Markers 15mm Safety Eyes (or desired) 3.25mm crochet hook (or desired hook for amigurumi) 6.00mm crochet hook (optional if you are making the placemat) Yarn Needle Sewing pins (optional for holding pieces in place before sewing)

Using your yarn needle and the tail, sew the head and the body together.
Arms (make 2)
·Using Yarn Color A Rnd 1 \~ Using a magic ring, place 6 sc into the magic ring (6 sc) Rnd 2 \~ inc around (12 sc) Rnds 3-6 \~ sc around (12 sc) Rnd 7 sc, dec / rpt around (8 sc) · Stuff hand, stuff the rest of the arm very lightly. Rnds 8-18 \~ sc around (8 sc) Rnd 19 \~ ch 1, fold in half, crocheting through both sides at the same time, sc across (4 sc) · Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. · Using your yarn needle and the tail, sew the arms to the side of the body, right under the head.
Legs (make 2)
·Using Yarn Color A Rnd 1 \~ Using a magic ring, place 6 sc into the magic ring (6 sc) Rnd 2 \~ inc around (12 sc) Rnd 3 \~ sc in 2, inc / rpt around (16 sc) Rnds 4-7 sc around (16 sc) Rnd 8 \~ sc in 2, dec / rpt around (12 sc) Rnd 9 \~ sc in 4, dec / rpt around (10 sc) Stuff foot, stuff the rest of the leg very lightly. Rnds 10-14 \~ sc around (10 sc) Rnd 15 \~ ch 1, fold in half, crocheting through both sides at the same time, sc across (5 sc) · Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. · Using your yarn needle and the tail, sew the legs to the of bottom to the body.
Ears (make 2)
·Using Yarn Color A ·Do not stuff Rnd 1 \~ Using a magic ring, place 6 sc into the magic ring (6 sc) Rnd 2 \~ inc around (12 sc) Rnds 3-4 \~ sc around (12 sc) Rnd 5 \~ ch 1, fold in half, crocheting through both sides at the same time, sc across (6 sc) · Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. · with your yarn needle and tail, sew the ears onto the head.
Tail
Using Yarn Color A Rnd 1 \~ Using a magic ring, place 5 sc into the magic ring (5 sc) Rnd 2 inc around (10 sc) Rnds 3-4 \~ sc around (10 sc) ·Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff tail. Using your yarn needle and tail, sew onto the bottom back of the body. (Picture is on the last page) Using your yarn needle and black yarn, embroider your polar bear's nose. Scarf
Tip - When changing colors, tie the colors together with a knot leaving some tails. This will create the fringe. With Yarn Color B Chain 42, sc in the 3rd ch from the hook and across (40 sc) Change to Yarn Color C ch 1 turn, sc across Change to Yarn Color B ch 1, turn, sc across. Fasten off, leaving a tail.

Fold one piece of yarn in half. with your crochet hook pull the loop about an inch (photo 1), then pull the two ends through the loop. Pull tightly to keep in place (photo 2). Repeat on the ends of the scarf to create the desired fringe. Trim yarn to desired length (photo 3).

With your yarn needle, sew scarf into place.
Placemat
Using Yarn Color b With your J crochet hook Rnd 1 \~ Using a magic ring, place 6 sc into the magic ring (6 sc) Rnd 2 \~ inc around (12 sc) Rnd 3 \~ sc, inc / rpt around (18 sc) Rnd 4 \~ sc in 2 sts, inc / rpt around (24 sc) Rnd 5 \~ sc in 3 sts, inc / rpt around (30 sc) Rnd 6 \~ sc in 4 sts, inc / rpt around (36 sc) Rnd 7 \~ [ch 3, skip 2 sts, sc in next, ch 3, skip 2 sts, all in the next st (hdc, dc 4 times, hdc)] repeat around. Sl in the first ch 3 made of this round. · Fasten off, leaving a tail to weave in ends. · Weave in ends.
