Pattern illustration

NO BROOMSTICK REQUIRED!SCARF et the fabulous loopy lacy results of broomstick lace without the broomstick! I always struggle to hold anything other than a hook when I'm crocheting - this put me off making anything with broomstick lace for years. But, by using an easy to make loop stitch alternative, I am able to achieve a similar look with this quick and easy substitute. I hope you find it as easy to make as I did. YOU WILL NEED 300 m Aran, Worsted or Chunky yarn, an appropriate hook for your chosen yarn, a needle for neatening ends. GAUGE - variable. :rn is written in UK and US terms with video tutorial and chart for reference.

When instructed to make 1ch, always pull tightly after working for a neater finish. The video below will show you the loop stitch technique I used - if your own method varies, you should find it works in just the same way :) Please visit https://youtu.be/Gul1I3RQ6mA for full-screen version or if the embedded video is not available to you.
