Pattern Directions
Using long-tail cast-on, cast on 100 stitches. Join for working in round, being careful not to twist stitches. Place marker for beginning of round.

Rounds 21-50: Knit. (If you wish the cowl to be longer or shorter, you can add or subtract some of these rows.) Rounds 62-70: Follow instructions for rounds 1-9. Bind off all stitches. Weave in any stray ends.
Finishing
Turn inside-out so wrong side of cowl is showing. Fold top and bottom hem at the turning round. Stitch cast-on and bind-off edges to wrong side of cowl using matching yarn in order to make picot edge. Weave in ends and block lightly.
