1. Introduction
Hello, this is IM4MAN. I'm extremely proud of this design. I have knitted several armwarmers and all of the pattern I used promised fitted finished accessories, none of them were. After trying one more pattern which had a good start but was ridiculously wide around my wrist, I decided to come up with my own pattern. I have made several knitted goods in the blue-yellow striped pattern and call them all "Trickster"-somethings in hommage to my favorite comic book character, DC's The Trickster, James Jesse. It is merely a spiritual tribute and not any copyright infringement...really, it's just blue and yellowstripes.

2. Requirements You need: yarn one skein of blue one skein of yellow a bit of scrap yarn I love the wool “Perle" from “Peterle, especially in yellow (1370) and blue(1152); they are two vibrant colors who are just perfect together. I didn't find this yarn in the ravelry database, so here are the stats: 220m/50g; 100% polyacryl; 10cm = 22 stitches, 10cm = 32 rows; recommended needle size 2 % -3; I assume this is fingering yarn. I doubled the yarn for this project. Just pick any yarn you like which reaches similar gauge
You need: needles
one set of dpns, size 3,5 mm one sewing needle or whatever you use to weave in ends Iam 4MAN Designs: Trickster Gauntlets
You need: techniques
knitting in the round 2x2 ribbing stockinette stitch in the round working colors in the round decreasing by knitting two stitches together increasing by making one stitch picking up stitches creating stitches 3. Instructions
Arm:
Cast on 56 stitches in the main color. (For one gauntlet, blue is the main color, for the other it's yellow). Join in the round. When you divide the stitches onto the needles, make sure that you always have an even number of stitches. Also, I find it easier if the needles always end with two purl stitches in the contrastcolor. (Since this is very customized, you may need to adapt; at best you cast on 4 (or 8/12/etc) additional stitches if you need it to be wider, or 4 (or 8/12/ etc. )less if you need it to be tighter. This part should fit comfortably around your arm just short of your elbow. I advise you to check frequently if the gauntlet fits your arm Work 2x2 ribbing for roughly 5 cms in both colors: always knit the main color and purl the contrast color. Now switch to stockinette stitch but keep the 2 stitches stripe pattern. Do this for 4,5 cms. Now comes a decrease row: k26 k2tog, k26 k2tog (or if you cast on another number of stitches: knit to the last two stitches of the second needle and then knit those together, then knit to the last two stitches of the 4th needle and knith those together). Work stockinette stitch in the stripe pattern for 3,5 cms. Next decrease row: k25 k2tog k25 k2tog (or knit together the last two stitches of the second and fourth needles) Now you will have eliminated one stripe in the contrasting color. Work stockinette stitch for 3,5 cms Next decrease row: k24 k2tog k24 k2tog (or knit together the last two stitches of the second and fourth needles). Now the section with the 4 main color stitches have become 3 stitches. Work stockinette stitch for 3,5 cms. Next decrease row: k23 k2tog k23 k2tog Now you really have to try on the gauntlet and see how much more centimeters you need until the gauntlet reaches your wrist. If there is sufficient space left, contintue in the stockinette-decrease rowstockinette pattern. As soon as the gauntlet reaches your wrist, start with increases in the places where you've made the decreases.
Hand:
Increase row: knit to the last stitch of the second and fourth needle and make 1 - which color depends on with which color you ended. In the end you will again have the stripes pattern. Consult the table on Iam 4MAN Designs: Trickster Gauntlets page 5 for the color scheme. Knit 1 row. Next increase row. Knit 1 row. Next increase row. Knit 1 row. Now you have to try on the gauntlet again. I made increases until I had 54 stitches; you need more stitches, do another set of increase row-knit row (or several).
Thumb:
Knit until you've reached the last 3 stitches of the second needle - if you have 54 stitches, these stitches should be mc mc cc. Now m1 - and make sure that the newly created stitch is in the contract color. Now k the mc one and knit the cc one. Knit until you've reached the mc cc mc part; now m1 (first stitch mc, second one cc) mc m1 (cc mc) What you've basically doing is to keep an mc border while alternating between mc and cc stitches, making 2 increases at the border every second row. Keep doing that until you have made 17 increase rows. Now put these on a piece of scrap yarn. For visual aid:

Iam 4MAN Designs: Trickster Gauntlets Knit for a few rounds until the gauntlet reaches your pinky.
Fingers:
I have to admit, I thought fingers were a bit tricky and this was my first time making any, but I've managed on the third try. Break off the contrast color and keep on knitting in the main color. Again, these measurements are for my fingers: try on the gauntlet frequently to see if it will fit. If it's too tight, either pick up more stitches or create additional stitches. Pinky: Knit until the opposite end of the thumb. This is your new beginning. K7 from the first needle, place all other stitches except the last 7 from the last needle on scrap yarn, now knit those 7 stitches. You will now have 14 stitches on 2 needles. Knit 5 stitches, start another needle, k2, now create 2 additional stitches, k1 stitch from the next needle, and then knit the rest of those with another needle. You will now have 5-5-6 stitches on three needles. Knit a few rounds. A “few depends" on how long your fingers are: knit until you're comfortable. Then purl one row, then bind off, weave in ends. That's your pinky. Again, please check before you bind off that everything fits.
Ring finger:
Now pick up the rest of the stitches from the scrap yarn and knit 2 rounds. Now knit 7 stitches, place all other stitches except for the last 7 stitches on the scrap yarn and knit those stitches. You will have 7-7 stitches on 2 needles. Knit 5 stitches, start on another needle, k2 and now pick up 3 (or more) stitches from the pinky finger part, k1 stitch from the third needle, then knit the 6 stitches from the third needle. You will now have 5-6-6 stitches on 3 needles. Knit for a few rounds until you find it comfortable, then purl one round and bind off. Again, try the gauntlet on before you bind off. Nothing is more annoying than a finger that won't fit.
Middle finger:
Pick up the stitches from the waste yarn. Now knit 7 stitches, Now knit 7 stitches, place all other stitches except for the last 7 stitches on the scrap yarn and knit those stitches. You will have 7-7 stitches on 2 needles. Knit 5 stitches, start on another needle, k2 and now pick up 3 (or more) stitches from the ring finger part, k1 stitch from the third needle, then knit the 6 stitches from the third needle. You will now have 5-6-6 stitches on 3 needles. Knit for a few rounds until you find it comfortable, then purl one round and bind off.
Index finger:
Pick up the stitches from the waste yarn. Now knit 7 stitches, Now knit 7 stitches on one needle, the other 7 on another. Pick up stitches from the middle finger part (3 or more). Knit for a few rounds until it feels comfortable. Purl one round, bind off.
Thumb:
Pick up the stitches from the thumb-scrap yarn. Knit until you've reached the hole between thumb and hand, pick up three stitches. Knit for a few rounds in the main color until you fel comfortable. Purl one row, bind off. Try on the gauntlet before you bind off. Iam 4MAN Designs: Trickster Gauntlets Now weave in all ends. And you're done! Well, make another one with the main and contrast color swapped. And now you're done.
