DK/Light worsted/8ply weight wool or wool/cotton in ? MC black (1 ball/skein) C1 white (1/2 ball/skein) C2 green (1/4 ball/skein) 3mm dpns - whichever you prefer for working in the round 1 stitch marker

Divide thumb stitches evenly across 4 needles, pick up 1 (2) sts across thumb join Knit 5 rounds then cast off loosely or use the sewn cast off method
RIGHT MITTEN FLAP
Pick up 20 (25) sts across back of hand, 2 rows below rib and 2 stitches after the start of the first green invader from the thumb Cast on 32 (40)sts loosely, join into a round and space stitches evenly across dpns Round 1 & 2: place marker, K20, then K1 P1 rib for res of round Round 3: K24 sts in black, then work invader pattern upside down, starting with the green invader Continue in pattern until the $3^{\mathrm{rd}}$ space invader is completed (green $+~2~\mathbf{X}$ white invaders) Decrease for top: with MC, K2tog, K to last 3 sts of $2^{\mathrm{nd}}$ needle, KPSO, K2tog at beginning of $3^{\mathrm{rd}}$ needle, K to last 3 sts on $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ needle, KPSO Next round: Knit MC Next round: Repeat decrease round Next round: Knit MC Then repeat decrease round each round until there are 22 (29) sts Graft remaining stitches together to close mitten end. Work second mitten to match but remember to double check you're picking up stitches for the mitten flap on the correct side of the glove. I made two right mittens first time around and had to completely redo the mitten flap on one!
