MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn, approx. 436 yards · Sample made with 4 balls Misti Alpaca, Worsted 4ply Size $\mathsf{N}/9.00\mathsf{m m}$ Tunisian crochet hook, or size needed for gauge
To start: Chain 3
Row 1:
Draw up loop in 2nd chain from hook and draw each stitch across. (3 loops on hook) Work off. YO, pull through 1 lop; YO, pull through 2 loops across.
Row 2: Increase at beginning and end of row \* Insert hook into space between first and second vertical bar, pull up loop (increase made) Note: when inserting hook, keep 2 threads of first stitch to right of hook; all other threads go to left of hook. $\mathcal{3}=\mathcal{3}$ $4=5$ $5=$ + Insert hook in space between last 2 vertical bars, pull up loop (increase made) \* Tsimple in last stitch (through 2 strands, as usual) \* Row 2 will have 5 loops on hook; Row ${\mathcal{B}}=7$ loops; Row $4=9$ loops; Row $5=1\,7$ loops

\* Skip first vertical bar. \*Insert hook under vertical bar of next stitch, YO and pull up loop; + Repeat from \* across. On last stitch, insert hook under 2 strands in vertical bar, YO and pull up loop. \*+ Work off. YO, pull through 1 lop; YO, pull through 2 lops across.
