Double-knit Oakland A's Athletics Scarf

Needles: US 10.5 circular or straight Gague: 6.5 sitches and 7 rows - 2" in St St Difficulty: Intermediate Stitches: Knit, purl Skills: Double knitting, long-tail cast on, adding in new color yarn, carrying yarn up work, Reading a chart. Measurements: 6.5 inches - 7 inches wide, length is adjustable
CO 20 sts for both colors (40 sts total)
I used the long tail cast-on to cast-on a stitch in green, then dropped the green yarn and pulled the yellow yarn up from the middle (between the two strands of green) to cast on a st in yellow. Drop yellow yarn, pick up green from the middle, cast on. Row 1 - Knit yellow in front, Purl green in back Row 2 - Knit green in front, Purl yellow in back Begin chart 1 (right-side up A)
NOTE!!! For double-knitting a chart. ODD ROWS read the chart RIGHT to LEFT <- EVEN ROWS read the chart LEFT to RIGHT ->

Knit 2 more rows of solid color as established after last row of chart (yellow on right-side of fabric/green in back) Switch colors and knit 5 rows (green on right-side of fabric/yellow in back) Join in white yarn. Knit 6 rows white for both sides of fabric. Remember to carry green and yellow yarns up the side, twisting the white yarn together on the outside of the yellow/green strands. You can cut the yellow/green yarn and join back in after the white rows, but this means you will have more ends to weave in. Knit 5 rows (green on right-side/yellow in back) Knit 5 rows (yellow on right-side/green in back) Knit 35 inches (green on right-side/yellow in back) Knit 5 rows (yellow on right-side/green in back) Knit 5 rows (green on right-side/yellow in back) Knit 6 rows white for both sides of fabric Knit 5 rows (green on right-side /yellow in back) Switch colors one last time and knit 2 solid rows Begin chart 2 (upside-down A) Knit 2 more rows in the established colors Bind off. Weave in loose ends. Add fringe if you want or leave plain.
