Simple Joys Shawl

Photo: Lisa Santoni Cromar by Lisa Santoni Cromar Difficulty: Easy I grew up spending many happy days at the Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, MA. It was and still is an awesome place to take children. This is where we were let loose to run around and be kids. This is where I first saw a sheep sheared, wool being spun, weaving & knitting. It managed to be both peaceful and fascinating at the same time. 1 loved the history, the quiet, the music, & the food. This is where I fell in love with spinning, weaving & knitting. Simple Joys is a shaker song that I grew up associating with happy times. It is also the perfect name for this simple shawl pattern that I threw together for my Prayer/Comfort shawl group. The stockinet stitch body and garter stitch ruffled edge are simple and meditative; Just the thing for knitting while chatting, watching TV, or listening to your favorite audio book.
