Supplies:
Any Worsted Yarn in 3 colors. I used Red Heart WithLove.3 ounces each K (6.5mm) hook 1( 5.5mm) hook Tapestry Needle to weave in ends Gauge: 6 sc and 6 rows with K hook = 2" square Pattern Notes: Ch 1 does not count as a st. Always join to the 1't st of the rnd.
To make as a stash buster, work pattern and ignore the color changes and work to 24". Work as follows for the Varsity Striping. Rnd 1: With color A and K hook, Ch 86, join w/ sl st to 1"t ch, making a circle. Ch 1, 2 sc in same st as join, sk 1 ch, \*2sc in next ch, sk 1 ch\*, rpt from \* to \* around, join to 1t sc, turn. (86sts) Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2sc in 1st st, sk 1 sc,\*2sc in next st, sk 1 st\*, rpt from \* to \*,join, turn. (86 sts now and throughout). Rpt Rnd 2 for the remainder of the pattern. Work with color A until your piece measures 3". Attach B and work as follows: 1 rnd B 1 rnd A Now drop A and cut yarn. Continue working Rnd 2 with color B for 3". Attach C and work as follows: 1 rnd C 3 rnds B 2 rnds C 2 rnds B 3 rnds C 1 rnd B Now drop B and cut yarn. Continue working Rnd 2 with color C for 3". Attach A and work as follows: 1 rnd A 3 rnds C 2 rnds A 2 rnds C 3 rnds A 1 rnd C Finish off, weave in ends.
Edging:
With I hook and color of your choice, attach yarn to any edge st, and sc around, join to 1st sc w/ sl st and work in your ends. Repeat on other edge.
