Boystown Beanie: A Free, One-Size, Stretchy Hat Knitting Pattern

Boystown Beanie

Pattern illustration

After hearing the Boystown football team head coach speak at a work function, I was inspired to knit a hat for each member of their high school varsity squad. Needing a simple pattern that would work well for a variety of teenage boys, and without the benefit of sizes on hand, I came up with a super stretchy hat that should fit just about anyone's head.

Materials:

One skein Red Heart Supersaver for MC 5 yards Red Heart Supersaver for CC Size $9\;16^{\prime\prime}$ circular needles Size 9 DPNs Tapestry needle $\mathbb{C}2010$ Minimalist Knitter. This pattern may be used for charity and personal knitting, and may be reproduced and distributed only for those reasons. This is a free pattern - if you paid for it, you have been ripped off! Scissors Gauge: 17 stitches $=4$ inches Size: This is a one-size beanie - it fits my head about as well as it fits my husband's. Made this way on purpose, you can give it to a wide range of people and ensure it will fit.
