Shawl that can be made to any size with any weight yarn and any size needle as you prefer. Original made with Debbie Bliss Delphi yarn on size 15 needles. 648 yards / 12 balls. Cast on 125 stitches. Terms KFB = knit into front and back of stitch SSK = slip next two stitches individually as if to knit, put tip of left needle into slipped stitches and knit them together Cast on as many stitches as you want your shawl to be big. I generally measure the needle size and multiply by the number of cast on stitches to get a rough idea of how big the shawl will be. The cast on edge will be one side of your triangular shawl. The top edge of the triangle that goes around your neck / shoulders will be slightly longer than this edge. Once you have cast on there is no good way to increase the size of the shawl. For my original Beach sunset project I used Debbie Bliss Delphi yarn on size 15 needles and cast on 125 stitches. (this used 648 yards / 12 balls) Row 1: KFB, SSK turn. Row 2 Knit Row 3: KFB, K1, SSK, turn. Row 4 Knit \*Row 5: KFB, Knit to I stitch before gap, SSK, turn. Row 6 and all even-numbered rows: Knit\* Continue rows 5 & 6 until all of cast on stitches are knit. You won't actually need to count because you will always be SSK-ing the two stitches on either side of the gap that forms from your turn on the previous row.
