Materials:
White Worsted Weight Yarn (less than one skein) Size E crochet hook 2 Black Safety Eyes Small amount of black yarn Tapestry needle
Stitches:
Magic Loop ML Single Crochet SC Slip Stitch SS Increase: 2 SC in single stitch Decrease: insert into stitch, yarn over and pullthrough, insert into next stitch, yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through all loops (2 stitches become one) Bobble Stitch 5DCBBL: To make this you will use a 5 double crochet bobble stitch. After making a 2 chain, into the next stitch (yarn over and insert into stitch, yarn over and pullthrough, yarn over and pull through only 2 loops, yarn over and insert into stitch, yarn over and pull through, yarn over and pull through only 2 loops....do for total of 5 partial double crochet...on last one pull through all loops) Body: Made in continuous rounds..do not join at end of each round. A stitch marker is helpful at beginning of each new row. Row 1: 6 SC in ML Row 2: 2 SC in each stitch around (12 Total) Row 3: (Increase, SC) 6 times (18 total) Row 4: (Increase, SC, SC) 6 times (24 total) Row 5: SC in each (24 total) Row 6: (Increase, SC, SC, SC) 6 times (30 total) Row 7: SC in each (30 total) Row 8: (Increase, SC x 4) 6 times (36 total) Row 9: SC in each (36 total) Row 10: (Increase, SCx 5) 6 times (42 total) Row 11: SC in each (42 total) Row 12: (Increase, SC x 6) 6 times (48 total) Row 13: SC in each (48 total) Row 14: (Increase, SC x 7) 6 times (54 total) Row 15-22 - 8 rounds: SC in each (54 total) Row 23: (Increase, SC x 8) 6 times (60 total) Row 24: SC in each (60 total) Row 25: (Decrease, SC x 8) 6 times (54 total) Row 26: (Decrease, SC x 7) 6 times (48 total) Row 27: (Decrease, SC x 6) 6 times (42 total) Row 28: (Decrease, SC x 5) 6 times (36 total) Row 29: (Decrease, SC x4) 6 times (30 total) Stuff body firml... Row 30: (Decrease, SC x 3) 6 times (24 total) Row 31: (Decrease, SC x 2) 6 times (18 total) Row 32: (Decrease, SC ) 6 times (12 total) Finish off. Leave long tail to weave around each of 12 stitches and pull tight to close circle. Weave in endssecurely.
Legs: make 2
Row 1: 6 SC in ML Row 2: 2 SC in each (12 total) Row 3: (Increase, SC) 6 times (18 total) Row 4: (Increase, SC, SC) 6 times (24 total) Row 5-10: 24 SC in each Finish off, leave tail for sewing leg to body. Stuff firmly.
Head:
Row 1: 6 SC in ML Row 2: 2 SC in each stitch around (12 Total) Row 3: (Increase, SC) 6 times (18 total) Row 4: (Increase, SC, SC) 6 times (24 total) Row 5: (Increase, SC X 3) 6 times (30 total) Row 6-8: SC in each (30 total) Row 9: (Decrease, SC x 3) 6 times (24 total) Row 10: (Decrease, SC x 2)6 times (18 total) Row 11: (Decrease, SC) 6 times (12 total) Finish off and leave long tail for sewing. In ridge between rows 6 and 7 make a line of back stitching over 5 stitches. Place safety eyes in spots at each end of black line. Secure eyes. Firmly stuff head. Sew head onto top of body. Weave in ends.
Arms: make 2
With a long tail for later sewing...Chain 12, Join with slip stitch in a ring. Crochet in continuous rounds. Row 1: SC in each chain. (12 total) Row 2-7: SC in each around. (12 total) Row 8: (Increase, SC) 6 times (18 total) Row 9, 10: SC in each (18 total) Row 11: (Increase, SC, SC) 6 times (24 total) Row 12-16: SC in each around (24 total) Row 17: Fold arm flat. Crochet through stitch on front and back of fold. Slip stitch, slip stitch and chain 2, 5DCBBL, SS, SS ch 2, 5 DCBBL, SS, SS ch 2, 5DCBBL, SS, SS ch 2, 5 DCBBL and slip stitch at end and finish off. Weave in ends. Firmly stuff hand end of arm and loosely stuff at top of arm. Attach to body on row 3 of body just below head on either side. Weave in ends. Blow Up Valvle: SC 4 x in ML. Join with slip stitch, finish off. Sew onto left upper chest of body. And there he is...
