Paras Pokemon Crochet Pattern by James Bartolotti

Materials:
5.0mm crochet hook (Size H) Approx 40g rust/orange yarn, worsted weight Approx 5g red yarn, worsted weight small amounts of tan, black, and white yarn small amount of yellow felt 1 pair 12mm safety eyes Tapestry needle Stuffing Finished size: approximately 5 1/2" long
Abbreviations:
ch = Chain sC = Single Crochet inc = single crochet twice in the same stitch (increase) dec = single crochet two stitches together (decrease) FO = Fasten Off 2sc = two single crochets in a row 3dec = three decreases in a row reverse = turn work around and continue next round in the most recent set of stitches
Notes:
Paras is made in rounds; use a stitch marker to mark the start of each round. Increases are made in the body to maintain an oval shape, adjust inc locations slightly if needed. Divisions between body segments are designed by decreasing around in the back loops only, followed by increasing around in the front loops only. The result is a small indentation while maintaining overall body shape. Stuff as you go after each segment to ensure that you fill each segment fully.

Body:
Starting at the head, using rust yarn. Round 1: Make a ring, sc 6 times in ring (6) Round 2: inc around (12) Round 3: [3sc, inc, sc, inc] two times (16) Round 4: [4sc, inc, 2sc, inc] two times (20) Round 5: [6sc, inc, 2sc, inc] two times (24) Round 6: sc around (24) Round 7: [7sc, inc, 3sc, inc] two times (28) Round 8: dec around in back loops only (14) Round 9: inc around in front loops only (28) Attach eyes. Stuff as you go after this and every other completed body segment. Round 10: [3sc, inc] six times (34) Rounds 11-12: (2 rounds) sc around (34) Round 13: dec around in back loops only (17) Round 14: inc around in front loops only (34) Round 15: [inc, 2sc, inc, 2sc, inc, 10sc] two times (40) Rounds 16-17: (2 rounds) sc around (40) Round 18: dec around in back loops only (20) Round 19: inc around in front loops only (40) Round 20: [dec, 2sc, dec, 2sc, dec, 10sc] two times (34) Round 21: [dec, sc, dec, sc, dec, 9sc] two times (28) Round 22: dec around in back loops only (14) Round 23: inc around in front loops only (28) Round 24: 5dec, 2sc, 6dec, 2sc, dec (16) Round 25: dec around (8) Round 26: dec around (4) FO. Sew on the mouth and teeth decoration. Use black yarn to sew a small area at the front of the mouth, then sew several small loops of white yarn to make the teeth.

Claws (make 2):
Using rust yarn. Round 1: Make a ring, sc 4 times into ring (4) Round 2: sc around (4) Rounds 3-4: (2 rounds) inc, sc, dec (4) Round 5: inc around (8) Round 6: [sc, inc] four times (12) Round 7: 4inc, 2dec, 4inc (18) Rounds 8-9: sc around (18) Round 10: [dec, 4sc] three times (15) Round 11: sc around (15) Round 12: 3sc, inc, 2sc, inc, 2sc, 3dec (14) Round 13: 2sc, inc, 2sc, inc, 2sc, 3dec (13) Round 14: 9sc, 2dec (11) Round 15: 9sc (9), ch, reverse Round 16: 7sc (7) FO, leaving a long tail. Stuff claw, then sew on to the first body segment. The uneven final rounds will ensure the claws point slightly forward, and not straight out to the sides. Legs (make 4): Using rust yarn. Round 1: Make a ring, sc 6 times into ring (6) Rounds 2-5: sc around (6) Round 6: sc around (6), ch, reverse This marks the start of a slight angle in the leg. Stuff the completed portion before continuing. Round 7: 4sc (4), ch, reverse Round 8: 4sc (4), ch, reverse Round 9: 2sc into the two remaining loops from Round 6, then 4sc into the four loops from Round 8 (6) Rounds 10-12: sc around (6) Round 13: 5sc (5), ch, reverse Round 14: sc 4(4) FO, leaving a long tail. Stuff the rest of the leg, then sew to the body, attaching to body segments two and three. The extra partial rounds (rounds 13&14) should be on the bottom to keep the legs from pointing down too much.
Mushrooms (make 2):
Using red yarn. Round 1: Make a ring, sc 6 times into ring (6) Round 2: sc around (6) Round 3: [sc, inc] three times (9) Round 4: [2sc, inc] three times (12) Round 5: [3sc, inc] three times (15) Round 6: [4sc, inc] three times (18) Round 7: [2sc, inc] six times (24) Round 8: dec around (12) Round 9: dec around (6) Stuff mushroom cap, but do not overstuff. Rounds 8&9 should lay mostly flat. Switch to tan yarn. Rounds 10-11: sc around (6) FO, leaving a tail. Stuff, then sew onto the second body segment.
