Dishcloth in Mosaic #24
If you haven't done Mosaic Knitting before, I recommend a little research before you try it, although it isn't hard at all. I have a free pattern on Ravelry called Dishcloth in Mosaic (orange and purple in the picture) which goes into a lot of detail on how to do it and there are numerous excellent online sources. This is just basically a written out pattern. It is based on Barbara G. Walker's Mosaic Design # 46 from her book Mosaic Knitting (which is an excellent resource). She uses charts but I prefer everything all written out. This pattern is a little different from others I've written out in that it is in stockinette (that is, knit on the right side and purl on the back with an iCord and pattern border).

Notes:
Odd number rows are the right side, even number rows are the wrong side In other words, if you are knitting an odd number row, you should be looking at the right side Stitches on the front (right) side are slipped wyib (with yarn in back). Stitches on the back (wrong) side are slipped wyif (with yarn in front). You will not be cutting either yarn until you are completely done using it. Instead, carry it up the side of the work (my Dishcloth in Mosaic has detailed explanations and pictures on how to do this or there are many explanations online). I highly recommend using stitch markers 3 in whatever configuration makes sense to you. For the knitted in icord on the right side, there will be a temptation to pull it tight, since youll have the strands from both colors right there. Resist this. If you do pulli too tight, you'll have a skinny icord on one side and a fat one on theother. On the other hand, the icord on the left side (with right side of cloth facing you) has a tendency to be very loose. Try to knit those stitches nice and snug.

p | μund |
sl | slip the stitch purlwise |
wyib | For example, sl-1 would mean slip one stitch from the left needle to the right without working it. This is always done purlwise, which means the needle is facing the new stitch as if you were going to purl it. withyarn inback |
This means that when you slip a stitch purlwise, your yarn needs to be in the back (or on the side farthest away from you). Your yarn will be in the same position it would normally be if you were going to knit the next stitch instead of
wyif | slipping it. |

slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front kl slip 1 purlwise with yarn in front
You slip the first stitch purlwise with the yarn in front. Then you take the yarn around the back so you are ready to knit the next stitch. Then you move the yarn to the front to slip the third stitch. Then move the yarn to the back so you can knit the next that you'll be slipping the stitch with the old color, moving the new color yarn around the back and knitting the next stitch with the new color.

This is actually modified from a stitch I found online called the hatch stitch. It involved four
