Special Stitches

Note: These stitches have long instructions, but they are deceptively simple. The 4TrCl is a 4 stitch treble crochet decrease (think of it as 4TrTog), with 2 of those stitches in next stitch, and 2 in the stitch after that. The 3 TrCl is similar, but the ch3 replaces the first tr. 3 Trcl in same and next st - yarn over twice, insert hook in same st, yarn over and pull up loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) twice, yarn over twice, insert hook in next st, yarn over and pull up loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) twice, yarn over twice, insert hook in same st, yarn over and pull up loop, (yarn over and pull through two loops) twice. Knit Picks Dishie 100% Cotton (100g,190yds) Worsted wt (30-40 g yarn required for project) 1 skein each of Aster, Azure, Begonia, Clementine, Creme Brulee, Honeydew, Jalapeno, Mulberry, Tranquil (30g yarn total)

Materials

3.75mm crochet hook 8 inch (25.5 cm) diameter metal macramé ring Yarn needle Optional: blocking pins, blocking mat Gauge 1st 2 rounds = approx. 2" diameter Color Patterns Refer to chart at end of page 2.

The Pattern

Round 1 With color A, ch 3, 12dc in magic ring, st in 1st dc to join. Fasten off color A; join color B in any st. Round 2 With color B, ch 3, dc in same st, 2dc in each stitch around, sl st in 3rd ch of 1st st to join. (24 sts total) Round 3 Ch 3, 3trcl in same and next st, \*ch 6, 4trcl over next 2 sts) 11 times, ch 6, sl st in top of 3trcl.(12 petals created) Fasten off color B; join color C into any ch 6 sp. Round 4 Ch 1, \*(5sc, ch2, 5sc) in each ch 6 sp; rep from \* around, sl st in 1"t sc to join. Fasten off color C; join color D into any ch 2 sp. Round 5 Ch 1, sc in ch 2 sp, (ch 5, sk4 sts, sc in next st, ch 5, sc in ch 2 sp) 11 times, ch 5, sk 4 sts, c in next st, ch 5, sl st in 1st sc. Round 6 Sl st in next 2 chs, sc in ch sp, (ch 5, sc in next ch sp) 23 times, ch 5, sl t in top of 1"t sc. Fasten off color D; weave in all ends.

Block into Shape

Soak piece in lukewarm water, drain and roll tightly in a towel to remove extra water. Pin piece into shape (an approximately 7 inch diameter circle) on a blocking mat or other soft surface, such as a folded towel.

Attach to Macramé Ring

All stitcheswill nowbeworked around metal macramé ring. To begin each stitch, pull yarn loop up from around the ring. With color E, ch 1 around ring, \*sc 7, sc 1 around ring and 1st ch 5 space of rnd 6; rep from \* around; ch 8, sl st to 1't sc to join.

Weave in ends.
