Nano Oya Shawl Knitting Pattern: Top-Down, One-Piece Design with Mohair and Silk

Setamo 500m (375m for 25g, 50% mohair, 50% silk) Needles 6 US 180cm X84 cm One knits this shawl in one piece top down. So, it requires knitting only few stitches at the beginning. The borders and the shawl's centre are knitted at the same time. Do not forget to slip the first stitch of each row (odd and even) purl-wise, with the yarn in front and to knit the last stitch of each row (odd and even). It will be easier to pick up the stitch on the left (base of the border) and the shawl will be more elastic when you block it. Only odd rows are charted in Chart C and D. Purl the even rows. FIRST STEP : Base of the border With a contrasting waste yarn, cast on 4 stitches and knit a few rows. With the project yarn, knit 1 row (WS). Continue with chart A, row 1 At the end of row 11 of chart A, do not turn work as if to knit back, but continue down the left side of the work, picking up and knitting 5 stitches. The 3rd stitch of these 5 stitches will be the centre stitch of the shawl.
