iPod Nano Wrist-strap Cozy

Abbreviations:
BO: bind off k: knit M1: make 1 st by lifting the bar between sts onto the left needle and knitting into the back loop rep: repeat slp1: slip 1 st purlwise (with yarn in back) ssk: slip 1 st knitwise, slip 1 st knitwise, then knit slipped stitches together through the back loop st(s): stitch(es)
Pattern:
Using a provisional cast on, cast on 11 sts. Row 1: K11. Row 2: P11. Rep Rows 1&2 once (4 rows total). This creates a skinny rectangle that will form the bottom of the cozy. Next, switch from knitting flat to knitting in the round. K11, then pick up and knit 2 sts along short side of the rectangle. Place the provisionally cast-on sts on a needle, then K11 from that needle. Pick up and knit 2 sts along the other short side of the rectangle. (26 sts total) Knit 25, PM for new beginning of round. Round 1: \*\*(Slp1, k1) six times, k1, rep from \*\* to end. Round 2: K26. Rep Rounds 1&2 fourteen times total. Set up for i-cord BO: M1, k1, M1, return 3 sts to left needle. Work i-cord BO as follows: \*\*k2, ssk, return 3 sts to left needle, rep from \*\* to last st.

Set up for i-cord wrist strap: k2, ssk, then pick up and knit 1 st in st below last st. Return 4 sts to left needle. Work i-cord strap as follows: \*\*k4, return 4 sts to left needle, rep from \*\* until wrist strap measures 9 inches. Set up for grafting: k2, ssk. Cut yarn, then graft end of strap to first row of i-cord BO. Weave in loose ends, download your favorite knitting podcast, and enjoy!
