Dual iPod Cover Knitting Pattern: Classic/Touch & Nano Designs with Mini-Cable Detail

This pattern contains the instructions for two different ipod covers, one for a classic or touch ipod and one for an ipod nano. Both use mini-cables to add a bit of interest to normal rib. For those that like charts these are included at the back of the pattern.

Materials: Double Knitting yarn - approx. 10g 4mm knitting needles (or size to reach gauge) Sewing up needle Gauge: 24 stitches to 4 inches/10 cm of stocking stitch Abbreviations: C2F: knit into the back loop of the second stitch but leave on the left hand needle, knit into front of first stitch and take both stitches off left hand needle. C2B: knit into the front loop of the second stitch but leave on the left hand needle, knit into the front of the first stitch and take both stitches off the left hand needle.

Classic/Touch Cover

Cast on 34 stitches. Row 1 : Knit 2, (Purl 2, Knit 2) repeat instructions within brackets to the end of the row. Rows 2 and 4: Purl 2, (Knit 2, Purl 2) repeat instructions within brackets to the end of the row. Row 3: (Knit 2, Purl 2, C2F, Purl 2, Knit 2, Purl 2, C2B, Purl 2) twice, Knit 2. Repeat rows 1-4 until your work measures 14 cm. Cast off loosely in pattern. Fold in half and sew up cast off edge, sew side seam and sew in any ends.

Nano Cover

Cast on 22 stitches. Row 1: (Knit 2, Purl 2, Knit 4, Purl 2) twice, Knit 2. Rows 2 and 4: (Purl 2, Knit 2, Purl 4, Knit 2) twice, Purl 2. Row 3: (Knit 2, Purl 2, C2F, C2B, Purl 2) twice, Knit 2. Repeat rows 1-4 until work measures 12 cm. Cast off loosely in pattern. Fold in half and sew up cast off edge, sew side seam and sew in any ends.
