General Notes
This hat is knit in the round and goes very fast. Look up how to do a three-needle bind off and how to make pom poms (both of these can easily be found on the web). Pattern: Cast on 121 sts. Join to knit in the round. Make sure that the stitches are not twisted. Pm (at start of round), $^{*}\mathrm{k}8{,}\mathrm{p}3^{*}$ Repeat from $^{*}11$ times. At stitch $60\;\mathrm{pm}$ .These markers will be the side edges of the hat where you will increase later. Work for $3{-}6^{\circ}$ . If you knit $6{\sqrt{2}}$ you can roll the brim of the hat. With $3^{\circ}$ you will not be able to roll. Once you have finished the $3{-}6^{\circ}$ start at first marker and knit every row. Knit for another $5^{\circ}$ $5^{\circ}$ from where you changed over to knitting every row). At this row increase 1 stitch on either side of your marker (total of 4 stitches increased). Knit for another inch. Put the front half of stitches on one needle and the back half on another needle (you may need to go to longer straight needles). Make sure where you increased is on the correct front and back needle (in other words you have the same number of stitches on the front as on the back). Do a three-needle bind off of all the Stitches.
Finishing
Make 2 pom poms (of the same yarn). Tie in alloose ends. And wear your groovy hat to the slopes or just around the house in your pjs.
