FIXATION BABY HAT
by Bobbi Kreb Fixation knits up into the perfect little baby bat. The stretch in the fabric lightly hugs the bead. This easy rolled brim bat can be made longer to grow with the baby!
MATERIALS
Yarn: 1 skeins Fixation (98.3% cotton, 1.7% elastic, 100 yards, 50 grams) Needles/Tools: 12" Circular and double point needles US #5 or size necessary to obtain gauge, stitch marker, darning needle Size: Newborn to 3 months/6 months Gauge: 6 stitches = 1 inch in stockinette stitch (Gauge is flexible due to elasticity of yarn)

Directions: With smaller circular needle, cast on 72(80) sts. Place marker and join in round being careful not to twist sts. Work in stockinette (knit all sts when working in the round) until hat measures 4" (4.5") from cast on edge. Decrease for crown: Change to DPNs as needed. Row 1:\* K6(7), K2tog, \* Continue around. Row 2: Knit Row 3: \*K5 (6), K2tog\* Continue around. Row 4: Knit Row 5: \*K4 (5), K2tog\* Continue around. Row 6: Knit Row 7: \*K3 (4), K2tog\* Continue around. Row 8: Knit Row 9: \*K2 (3), K2tog\* Continue around. Row 10: Knit Row 11: \*K1 (2), K2tog\* Continue around. Row 12: K2 together around until 3 sts remain on needle. Knit a 2 1/2" I-Cord with remaining 3 sts. Check the video at http://www.purlbee.com/2006/09/29/i-cord/ for instructions. Bind off and pull yarn through last stitch. Weave in end from top knot and tie I-cord into a knot. Weave in ends.
