He's been everywhere
A love story and a Mystery Knit-A-Long for the HTC February's theme: Love you to the Moon

Prologue
You are about to read a little love story and knit a hat that's pattern goes along the story line. I used some sock weight yarn held double, knitted on 3.75 mm needles. I casted on 90 stitches, which are ok for my head, but my head is not of the small variety. I am not a professional or experienced designer, so I cannot tell you how many stitches to cast on for other sizes. I hope you will find the correct amount of stitches that fit your head. It is important however that you have a multiple of 24 stitches after the two increase rounds that happen in chapter 1 (the brim). Use whichever increases you like best. The pattern instructions are set in a different type as well as a different colour. 227,900,000 imaginary bonus points for those of you who find out why I used these colours. And 1 more for those who know what this number means. Finally, some more structured info: Yarn: Rowan Pure Wool 4 ply held double, ca. 414 m/ 455 yds (counted held single) or about 210 m/ 230 yds of worsted weight yarn I recommend solid coloured wool. Semi solid might work, too. Needles: 3.75 mm Gauge: 4.5-5 sts / 1 inch Techniques: knit, purl, cables, increase, decrease

Chapter 1
Once, there was a spaceman. He had his own spaceship and sailed with it through space. It seems he had been everywhere. One day, on a quick stop on Mars, he met a girl. She was beautiful. Of course. Girls are always beautiful when the heroes meet them. It was cold that day because the girl was wearing a hat. Suddenly a storm came up. There are really heavy storms on Mars. And the girl's hat got blown away from her head. It went all so quickly that she couldn't hold on to it. It Was gone in an instant. But our spaceman was faster than the wind and caught the hat - it was lovely. He started after her to give it back. When he found her she thanked him and smiled. He took the chance and invited her for a drink. Off they went to fall in love with each other.
Start your romance with casting on 9O stitches. Close to round.
Because the spaceman was a spaceman he wanted to show the girl the wonders of space. So he took her into his spaceship, showed her around (she was really impressed) and set sails to the sky. On their first trip he took her to see the rings of Saturn. Chapter 2
They didn't stay long at Saturn, but they sure enjoyed the view. They also enjoyed the company of each other and wanted to extend their journey. So our hero asked the girl what she wanted to see next. She has never seen a meteor shower on Earth she said, so the spaceman typed the coordinates into the ship's computer and set course to Earth.
