Note that the pattern has been written without the garter stitch shown at the cast on edge and the cast off edge. This is to keep the yarn requirements to 1 skein.
PATTERN
Cast on 144 stitches using Picot Cast On instructions (see above). Join work into round being careful not to twist stitches. Place marker B for beginning of round. Begin Frost Flower Lace Graph, starting with row 1. Repeat stitches 1-32 of each row 4 times, placing a marker A at beginning of each section. Complete 32 rows of pattern 2 times. Change to smaller needle. Work rib as follows: $\mathrm{^{*}K3}$ $\mathbf{P3}^{**}$ , repeat from \* to \*\* to end of round. Work 4 rounds in rib. Cast off using Picot Edge Cast Off instructions (see above).
FINISHING
Sew in ends. Wash gently and block. I used blocking wires to capture the picots at cast off edge only. At cast on edge, pins were used to emphasize the shape of the flowers, as seen in the photo above. Wear and enjoy.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
I've worked in the knitting industry as a knitting store owner; knit and crocheted all my life and always surround myself with a rainbow of colours. As a mother and grandmother there is always someone to knit for; a sweater, a pair of gloves or socks; a scarf, cowl or shawl. My stash is gynormous and can definitely be termed SABLE (stash accumulation beyond life expectancy). When I'm not knitting or crocheting, I love to needlepoint, swim, read, garden and cook. Because this design was completed for the Ravelympics, and there are time constraints, it has not been edited. Please let me know if you find any errors and I will do my best to correct them. (designed for the Ravelympics, event designerbiathalon)
This pattern is for personal use only.
