With Dark Green cast on 6 sts for base of cactus. Row1-K but inc1 at both ends of row. (8sts) Row2-4 Starting with a p row st.st for 3 rows. Row5-12 Repeat Rows1-4 twice. (12sts) Row13-20 Starting with a k row st.st for 8 rows but dec1 at both ends of every k row. (4sts) Work First Frond \*Row21-Kinc1 twice,T. continue working on these 4 sts only. To Make Up: Cactus 1.Sew the two cactus pieces together leaving the cast on edges open for stuffing. 2.Bend over the ends of the pipecleaners and bind with spare green yarn as a safety feature. 3.Stuff fronds first pushing a bound pipecleaner to the top of each then surround with stuffing. 4.Bend remaining pipecleaners to fit in cactus bottom, stuff further then close cast on edges. Prickly Pears 1.Fold prickly pear in half and oversew all round to add definition. 2.Sew 3 prickly pears to top of each cactus frond. Pot 1.Run a thread along cast on edge, draw tight and secure with a few sts, then continue up seam to top of Red. Put plastic pot in red knitted pot. 2.Place ballast in plastic, pot, plant cactus in ballast, pull Brown soil part of pot round cactus and join seam at back,then sew rest of seam to cactus to keep secure.
