Yam - Rowan Rowanspun 4 ply. approx 480m Needles: 4mm, UK 8 - circular needles recormmended Finished size: 52 inches wide by 20 inches deep after blocking Cast on 3 stitc hes Knit 6row = Knit 3. yo. pick up 3 stitches along knitted edge. yo. pick up 3 stitches on cast on edge (1 1 st) Slip first stitch.k2. $\mathbf{\dot{y}}\mathbf{\dot{Q}}$ .P5 $j_{1}^{\prime}\bar{\Pi}$ .k3 (13 st) Garter e dging - K3.yo at beginning of each row Inorease either side of centre stiteh on first and every following fourth row (rs) Purl alternate rows - not charted Start Iace pattern on main section of the shawl after you have completed one repeat of the patern either side of the centre stitch. Start second lace pattem (Chart Two) on main section of the shawl after you have com pleted chart one. Lace edging is on Chart 3. cast off loosely knitwise. To get a more taditional triangle shape ie not so wide and deeper. you would increase at garter edge and centre stiteh on the right side only.
