This embellishment is envisioned as a surface crochet to a granny square or material, which may have other embellishments on the same surface. It is intended to also be beautiful on the reverse side of the granny square/ or material. This embellishment is best done in the same weight yarn as the granny square/ material that is worked upon. The Prizm Center Embellishment is typically worked in the center of a 'granny square' - but could be worked on any part of the grid of granny stitches. “granny stitch group" - dc 3 in the same ch-space Start: Begin by making a standing sc around the corner of a centermost granny stitch group. e is any surface embellishment, work under those surface stitches - sc in the top of the center dc of the granny stitch group to the left; - hdc around the upper right corner of the “granny space" above; - ch 1 - hdc around the upper left corner of the same “granny space"; - sc in the top of the same dc as the last sc; - sc around the lower left corner of the same “granny space" and underneath any other surface embellishment; - ch 1 - insert hook under 2 chain strands of surface embellishment, make sc around them; - ch 1 - sc around the next corner of a centermost granny stitch group; \*\*\* repeat from \*\* to \*\*\* 3 more times; - end by omitting last sc of repeat, join to standing sc w Slip st; cut yarn; Fasten Off.
