Double Checked
Author: Anja Freihube This pattern provides outlines on knitting a pair of socks with a HouNDsTOOTH motif made in stranded knitting. It is a very easy pattern, although no further explanations on stranded knitting, heels or toes are included. Just insert your own favourite. If in doubt, check the following tutorial on Ravelry: Tutorial: Stairway to Stranded Socks 1. It should make this pattern easy even for beginners in stranded sock knitting. This pattern provides three different sizes, which differ in stitch count. Further sizing can be achieved by varying needle size. The sizes are given as follows: S(M,L). Size small (S) should fit for teenagers or adults with slim legs and ankles, size medium (M) is thought for the average women's feet, approximately EU 38-40, and size large (L) fits men's feet. Length is completely variable.

Instructions 2
· With MC, cast on 60(64, 68) sts. Join and start knitting in the round. · Work a ribbed cuff for 10 to 20 rounds. The grey/blue sample shows a 1-1 ribbedcuff. · Set-Up: Increase the stitch count to 68(72,76) sts. To do so, distribute 8 increases evenly across your stitches. Kfb or M1R work best. · Join CC and start working the chart (see below). Repeat the chart for five to ten times for the leg. · Work your favourite method of heels in MC across half of the stitches. Starting a heel flap across needles 3 and 4 (starting with a WS row) enables you to let the CC strand hanging, no need of cutting it. Same works for short row heels. The sample shows a heel flap and gusset, where the gusset is worked in 1-1 stripes and the sole in 2-2 stripes. Continue the chart on the instep until you reach your pinky toe (approximately 5 cm (2 inches) shy of your total foot length.) The pattern can be stopped at any row but looks best if ended after either row 2 or row 4. · Work your favourite method of toes. The sample shows a wedge toe which is grafted together with kitchener stitch. · Work a second sock. :) · Let the socks gently soak in lukewarm water and soft wool detergent. Rinse them completely and get rid of the remaining water by softly pressing it out on a towel. Careful blocking helps to even out the stranded knitting.
