DH Cabled Tablet Cover (Nexus 7)

Yarn Needed:
100 yards aran or worsted weight wool yarn (Medium - 4) Yarn used was Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool in Brown Heather.
Tools Needed:
Size 8 (5.0 mm) needles Cable needle
Notions:
Tapestry needle Two (2) size 7/8"buttons Sewing needle and thread 1 yard of T-shirt fabric (optional for lining)
Finished Size:
Note: This size allows for attaching a lining to the inside of the cover. The dimensions are suited only to a Nexus 7 tablet. However, this pattern is easily customizable by measuring circumference and length of tablet. Using the specified gauge, add 5 stitches to cast on for each additional inch required for the circumference.

To add length, repeat 12 row cable pattern as long as necessary. Width: 5.5" Length (w/flap): 22" Gauge: 5 stitches and 5 rows = 1 inch in stockinette stitch

Instructions:
With size 8 knitting needles, C0 26 Knit flap: Knit 3 rows \*k across row k3, p20, k3\* k5, yo, k2tog, k12, k2tog, yo, k5 k3, p20, k3 Repeat from \* to \* 6 times. Begin cable pattern (body of cover): (WS) Rows 1,3,5,7,9, 11, 13, 15: k5, p6, k4, p6, k5 (RS) Rows 2,6, 8, 10, 14, 16: k3, p2, k6, p4, k6, p2, k3 Row 4: k3, p2, 3/3 RC, p4, 3/3 LC, p2, k3 Row 12: k3, p2, S/3 LC, p4, 3/3 RC, p2, k3 Repeat cable pattern 7 times, or as long as needed. Knit 3 rows B0kwise Block to required width dimensions. Fold cover lengthwise so that flap extends approximately 2 inches over front of cover. Seam along sides of cover. Attach buttons to line up with buttonholes.
