Materials; 25grams of a very thin UK double knit yarn for the dress . I used James C Brett Twinkle in navy with royal blue shimmer running through it The headband and bolero took 15grams of James C Brett Eskimo yarn. One pair of size 3.25mm needle for the dress and one pair size 3.75mm needles for the bolero. 3 small buttons Gauge 6sts and 8 rows = 1 square inch of stocking stitch on size 3.25 mm needles with the thin DK yarn. Doll Measurements. H4H or Designa Friend Doll; Height = 14 inches. Chest = 7 inches. Waist = 6 inches Hips = 7.5inches
DRESS
Using size 3.25mm needles and navy sparkle yarn. Cast on 97sts and knit 3 rows for the hem. Now starting with the lower half continue as follows. Rows 1 through 10, starting with a knit row work in stocking stitch. Row 11. \*K1,(K2tog 11 times,) rep from\* to last 5sts,(k1, k2tog twice) = 51sts Rows 12 through 14, knit. Work now measures 2 inches. Row 15. Cast on 3sts for the button band and knit to end of row. = 54sts Row 16. K3, purl to last 3 sts, k3. Row 17. Knit Rows 18 through 40 , work as rows 16 and 17, working a buttonhole on rows 27 and 37, thus. Knit to the last 3 sts, YFWD, k2tog, k1. Row 41. K16, k2tog, k21, k2tog, k13. =52sts. Work now measures 5 inches. Row 42. Armhole divide, K3, P9, Cast off 3sts, p19,(including the st left on the needle after cast off), Cast off 3sts, p12,(including the st left on the needle after cast off),k3. Row 43. K15, cast on 20sts, knit 19, cast on 20sts, k12. =86sts Row 44. Knit. Row 45. K14, K2togTBL, K2tog, K15, K2togTBL, K2tog, K15, K2togTBL, K2tog, K15, K2togTBL, K2tog, K11.=78sts Row 46. Knit Row 47. Tuck the button band to the inside and slip stitch in place. Sew on buttons to correspond with the buttonholes. Fluffy Bolero Worked from the bottom back up to the shoulder, then divided and knit down the 2 fronts. Using size 3.75mm needles and fluffy yarn. Cast on 26sts and knit 20 rows. Now divide for the back neck. Work now measures 2 inches. Row 21. K9, cast off 8sts and knit to end. Nowknit 23 rows on thefirst setof 9sts forthe shoulder and leftfront and castoff. Break yarn and rejoin it to the other set of 9sts and knit 22 rows for the shoulder and right front.(this ensures that the ends are kept at the side edges.)Cast off. Now join the back and fronts together by just catching the end stitch of the first row of the back and the last row of the fronts.
Hair band
Using size 3.25mm needles and navy sparkly yarn cast on 54sts. Now cast off these 54sts. Stitch row ends together.
Flower
Using size 3.25mm needles and fluffy yarn cast on 54sts. Row 1. (K1, cast off 7sts, ) to end. =12sts ( on needle you will have 1 stitch at the beginning followed by 5 groups of 2sts and 1 stitch at the end). Thread yarn through these 12sts and draw up tightly to form the flower. Stitch the flower to the band over the join.
