C4F Slip first 4 stitches onto cn and hold them in front, knit 4 stitches, knit 4 stitches from your cn.
CABLE PATTERN
Rows 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 17, 19 (RS) [K2, p1] twice, k8, p2, k3, p2, k8, [p1, k2] twice. Rows 2 and foll even rows (WS) [P2, k1] twice, p8, k2, p3, k2, p8, [k1, p2] twice. Row 15 (RS) (cable row) [K1, p1] twice, C4F, p2, k3, p2, C4F, [p1, k2] twice. Row 20 (WS) [P2, k1] twice, p8, k2, p3, k2, p8, [k1, p2] twice. Rep rows 1-20 for cable pat.
HEADBAND
Cast on 35 sts. Work rows 1-20 of cable pat 6 times, rep rows 1-10 once more. Bind off.
FINISHING
Sew bind-off and cast-on edges together.
Center band
Cast on 20 sts. Work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until piece measures 2" from beg. Bind off. Attach to Headband by wrapping around seam and sewing side edges together.
