Brennan
Brennan is a cowl or scarf that is suitable for a man or a woman. The cable pattern is a subtle textured pattern on a garter stitch background. The cowl is finished with attached I-cord buttonholes and is worn closed with 3 buttons. The scarf is a wider and longer version without buttons. Tips are provided on how to easily modify the size.

Finished Measurements
Cowl: 6in $/~15\mathrm{cm}$ wide x 20in / 51cm long Scarf: 8in / $20\mathrm{cm}$ wide x 56in / 142cm long
Materials
$\#5$ $3.75~\mathrm{mm})$ needles Cowl: DK weight yarn (-123yds $/\ 112\mathrm{m})$ I used Knitpicks City Tweed DK (123yds $/\mathrm{~112m})$ per $50\mathrm{g}$ Poseidon, 1 skein Scarf (not pictured): DK weight yarn (-400yds / 366m) I used Delly's Delights Farm O So Soft (650yds $/\ 594\mathrm{m})$ per $227\mathrm{{g}};$ Black, 1 skein cable needle tapestry needle 3 buttons (cowl version)
Gauge After Blocking
28.5 stitches / 40 rows $=4\mathrm{in}\mathrm{\Omega}/\mathrm{\Omega}10\mathrm{cm}$ in cable pattern on #5 $(3.75\mathrm{mm})$ needles Gauge is not critical for this project Sizing Note: To increase or dcrease the width of the scarf, add or subtract a multiple of18 stithes plus for the garter edging. (e.g. Five repeats wide would be $18\mathrm{~x~}5=90+3=93$ stitch CO. At the stated gauge, this would make a scarf approximately 13in / $33\mathrm{cm}$ wide)
