Secure yarn and hide the tail inside the hat. Weave in the yarn ends of the brim, hiding the ends inside.
Pompom

Cut a 4" length of accent yarn and set aside. Wrap accent yarn around two fingers 15-20 times. Break yarn and remove looped yarn from fingers.

Cut the side of the looped yarn opposite the knotted yarn and trim ends to desired length. Thread the 4" length of accent yarn through the hole in the looped yarn and knot tightly.
Finishing
Using the long tails on the pompom, secure it to the top of the hat, knotting the yarn tails inside. Leave the hat as it is, or trim it with embroidered, knotted, looped, or beribboned decorations.
