
This bright comfy hat is sprinkled with daisies, the cheerful heralds of summer. Easy to knit with DK weight $100\%$ cotton, it is the perfect hat for a day of sightseeing ora trip to the beach. Change the look with a grosgrain or satin ribbon inserted into the eyelet row. The hat is shown with two options- daisies sprinkled around the crown of the hat or a row of daisies embroidered above the eyelet row.

Hat Construction
Cast-on (C0) seventy-two stitches 64(72, 80) using a long tail cast-on method. Row 1 PM. Join to knit in the round being careful not to twist yarn. Knit every round until hat measures 2 inches $\left(4\mathsf{c m}\right)$ , Eyelet Pattern rows Rnd 1 Purl Rnds 2 and 4 Knit Rnd 3 \*k2tog, yo\* \*\*repeat until end of round Rnd 5 Purl Eyelet completed. Continue knitting each round until hat measures 55.5, 6) inches (adjust size as needed for depth of crown) from cast-on row.
Shape Top
Switch to double-pointed needles when necessary for decrease rows. Rnd 1 . $^{*}\mathrm{K}6$ K2tog\* \*\*continue pattern until end of round. Rnds 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 Knit Rnd 4 \*K5, K2tog\* \*\*continue pattern until end of round. Rnd 6 \*K4, K2tog\* \*\*continue pattern until end of round. Rnd 8 \*K3, K2tog\* \*\*continue pattern until end of round. Rnd 10 \*K2, K2tog\* \*\*continue pattern until end of round. Rnd 11 \*K1, K2tog\* \*\*continue pattern until end of round. Rnd 12 \*K2tog\* \*\*continue pattern until end of round. 8 (9, 10) stitches remaining.
Finishing
Cut a1 ft. $\left(30\mathrm{cm}\right)$ length of yarn. Using a tapestry needle, thread yarn through remaining 9(10,11) stitches. Pull yarn tight, weave in end. Weave in cast-on yarn. Thread ribbon through eyelet if desired.

Option 1- with white DK weight yarn, embellish with an 11 petal lazy daisy stitch flower at the crown, five 5 petal lazy daisy stitch flowers placed at intervals surrounding the crown and one 5 petal lazy daisy stitch flower at the top of the eyelet row (see photo for placement). With yellow worsted weight yarn place 3 French knots in the flower at the crown and one French knot in each of the other five flowers. Option 2- complete the 11 petal lazy daisy flower at the crown, then embroider a row of 10 five daisy with five petals. Place 3 French knots in the flower at the crown and one in the center of each flower.
